• Reduced customer complaints by 30% from previous year, resulting in 99.7% accurate shipments.
• Developed and executed a pallet racking project for 330,000 sq.ft. Distribution center.
• Managed recovery from warehouse fire, while continuing to ship to customers without interruption.

Reporting to the General Manager, material flow and control responsibilities in a manufacturing environment. This is a consumer product manufacturer of golf carts and go-carts. Multi-facility material flow responsibilities with service to all manufacturing departments. Charged with developing material handling solutions for the efficient movement of raw materials through production. Responsible for supporting the production schedule, and achieving high inventory accuracy. Transportation of raw materials and finished goods via dedicated truckload carriers, LTL, and company owned fleet.

 

• Led a Kanban parts flow implementation from start to finish, which reduced production downtime by 75%.

   

• Researched, and implemented a capital improvement project which redesigned 150,000 sq.ft. raw materials storage. Setup a gold zone for fast movers. Increased inventory accuracy from 95% - 98%. Capital project format was adopted as standard for the corporation involving 10 plants in the U.S., Canada and Germany. Added carton flow racks for small cartons and large skids (2500 lbs), and radio frequency bar coding.
• Reduced indirect labor costs by 10% within a $1.0 million departmental budget.
• Controlled more inventory (17,000 SKUs) with fewer people over 3 facilities totaling 700,000 sq.ft. of storage and manufacturing area. Implemented radio frequency scanning.
• Emphasized team training which helped the department of 60 unionized associates create a willingness to cross train. This contributed to increasing accuracy and efficiency (reduced forklifts).
• Established a bench-marking practice of visiting other companies, that was recognized as a "best practice" in the corporation.
• Cultivated supplier relationships resulting in improved parts presentation (appropriate lot sized containers) in assembly which improved material control.

A Q1 Ford certified Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of electrical components to automotive engines and communication/electronics industry. Responsible for receipt, control, and delivery of raw materials for production; control, packaging, and shipment of finished goods via LTL and truckload carriers. Oracle based MRP system.

• Achieved 100% on-time finished goods shipments to the top 20 customers, and 97% with remaining customers.
• Cut freight costs 10% by consolidating the number of carriers used from 15 down to 5.
• Established bar code labeling, and packaging of finished goods to customer’s specification, resulting in efficient handling for the customer.

Management, training, and evaluation responsibilities for 60 members of the school logistics department in support of a 400 man school staff and 2000+ students. Management responsibilities also included: Facilities Management for 18 building campus, Food Service, Industrial Hygiene, Transportation, Drug and Alcohol screening program, and Safety.
